I'm thinking about joining the armed services of some sort. College for free is college for me.

Wow, I never realized how fast Vista's installation process is... I swear I just did it in 15-20 minutes... on my new computer.

Specs are:
Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz
4GB DDR 800
1x250GB SATA II
6x500GB SATA II (not yet configured for RAID)
Geforce 8800GTS

Any estimations about security and bug issues in it? In all the previous Windows OS's, I've recommended that people wait at least a year before using the new OS, so that plenty of updates have been released for all the major exploits and errors.

Well I've been using it since before the new year when the RTM came out and I haven't had any problems. However, Vista is much more annoying.. there's a lot more "are you sure you want to...?" prompts in an effort to provide "security." Vista is much better about updating itself, but you need to remember security is a day-to-day issue (it may be better tomorrow but worse the next day). I'd say stick with XP Pro if you don't want things like media center.

Who the hell needs 3,250,000MB of disk space? You could probably fit every song ever written, back to cavemen days, on there in FLAC and still have room to spare. :P
