And btw, the reason it's still banned here is because when they talked about legallizing it, the American Government threatened all sorts of trade sanctions and stuff, so Canada was forced to drop the idea.

Note that peyote is legal under the American Indian Religious Freedom Act for American Indians (illegal for non-Natives).  Most people do not feel a sensation of being "high" unlike marijuana nor are hallucinations common.  So I don't know that it has similar effects.
