Battle.net unbanned, to my knowledge, every non-invalid cdkey sometime around noon today. Anybody have any insight into why this happened?
I heard their server crashed.
Last-ditch effort to promote the popularity of Battle.net?

They all went down for maintenance, but that's 7 years of cdkeys they just unbanned. Maybe they think nobody has them anymore? Perhaps this is another one of those historic moments Battle.net is so famous for.
i knew this was gonna be posted on the *BOT DEVELOPMENT* forum, i was just waiting.
This is true, and I'm stocked up :)
To my knowledge, UserLoser probably has the largest number of CDKeys right now....
IIRC, he was searching for any noticeable pattern in Battle.net CDKeys.
Battle.net might be in the early stages of decomposition. Or it could be quite the oppsosite. It really depends if CDkeys will continued to be banned now. If not, they're probably lowering server cost by clearing up space. If they are still banning, they're most likely refreshing their banned key database, clearing out the ones which are forgotten and never to be logged on battle.net.

There are actual customers with BANNED cdkes that did not break the TOS for battle.net. This might just be an attempt to get rid of the cdkeys that noone "loaded" in an effort to ban only the ones currently being used by people.

Hrmm i am using a Diablo II CdKey that was banned.
Banned keys are still banned. Muted/jailed keys are now working.
Ahh.... So the answer presents it's self. I found it very unlikely that battle.net would have taken the time or by mistake unbanned all those keys just to allow something to start again that they were trying to prevent.

How can you possibly have tested 7148 CD-keys in such a small period of time?
Proxies with a cd key tester.

My job gives me access to alot of computers, and I have a very extensive list of proxies, and key's to most Battle.net game platforms as well. Since I am the supervisor at my job, and have the most access to the computers noone really questions what I do with them, as long as it's within legal bounds and conditions, but what they don't know can't hurt them.
By the way, The time stamp was of the last key that was tested, so it was not that fast. The actual time of testing key's began at about 12:30 this afternoon, it's been 6 hours since I started that project and it is continuing as we speak.

Alot of keys got working :o.
As far as starcraft key's go, I have yet to find any reason to believe that they are working as of this moment, but as far as Diablo II cdkeys go, out of the many muted/voided/banned key's that I have they are now working.
I had 3 muted/voided War3 keys in a list, as of this morning, all 3 of them are 100% good.
I think maybe only some of them got unbanned/unmuted/unvoided.
I have to say, this is weird :o.
I am currently only testing Starcraft and Diablo II cdkeys, I do not have the excess use to test multiple games at this time, so until I am done with Starcraft and Diablo II I will move on to testing warcraft II, Warcraft III, and Japan Starcraft cdkeys. I estimate that due to the amount of key's, and the amount of proxies it will take it will be about a week before I am completely done.
There is no such thing as Japan Starcraft CD-keys
Wouldn't know, never used it. Just a based assumption, never had the need for it so never investigated anything about it. Just figured there would be, and if so would have gotten my hands on them to test and see. Just trying to come a conclusion on this chain of events, and maybe find out the reasoning behind it.
Here is the explanation for this, and the reasoning behind it.
http://www.battle.net/info/cdkeymuting.shtml
All my keys are banned on easy so.. I dunno.
Edit: Now some work! ohh em gee
Edit2: My ratio is 1:2 (good:bad)
Just for reference, banned does not mean invalid. The cdkeys removed from the working database were not re-added (the same concept as having a valid cdkey that was not yet printed onto a box so that we don't have access to some incredible finite number of cdkeys without owners).

Japan Starcraft cdkeys are normal cdkeys just with the Japan client or bot which can do this. Who knows this could be Blizzard giving everyone "another" chance and to try out their new plan of muting process. Which ever the case Blizzard has made many people very happy.

Acually, what I think, is that now all the kids with no lifes on Battle.net will grab their list of thousands of banned cdkeys and begin to 'load' channels again. This will make us all very happy indeed...

Starcraft keys work for: SEXP/STAR/JSTR Game Protocols.
[Edit1: Elneroth post:]
Well, actually, this is not very cool. Loaders are comming again to ban the keys.
I agree, Loading is pointless and a waste of cdkeys in general along with flooding. Why I have so many I honestly couldn't answer that, just started collecting them when I started bnet and haven't stopped. The only keys I really care for are Diablo II keys, for which I use to run multiple bots, and later sell the items off too people who can't find them themselves. It's a little extra income, and it serves it's purpose at times.

Normal starcraft keys "that you get from your box" are "STAR/SEXP/JSTR" keys for JSTR you just need a bot that can get onto JSTR or by starcraft in japan.
That's basicly what he just said, but oh well. I'm glad my SC keys are un-muted, However..I'm not thrilled at the possibility of users taking advantage of this and loading/flooding channels again. [off topic] Why is this in Bot Dev forum?

Well alot of bots use cdkeys, so i guess that affects the development of bots, and there is no other forum that this really fits into to.... so =\

Please, we all used to, let the newbies have their fun.
Hell it may bring some life to battle.net, I think that was the stuff my inner child still wants enjoys to see every now and again. I don't personally load but it's fun to see stuff like that happen.
LOL, maybe you are right, lets bring the kids back ;). Like almost all battle.net is from 15 to 51, we need younger people to continue the tradition! ^^.
Loading was fun before we had to move to Clan and then Op channels (even worse with Warcraft III clans). That's what made Battle.net interesting years ago. We all just sit around and talk and program and make fun of idiots who flood bot *sigh*

My clan was almost destroyed around the time that I joined because of assholes who had flood bots ( {bA} ). But that didn't make it interesting, it made it stressful. Battle.net was interesting (and still is) because of friends there, good times gaming, etc.
The fact that you think it could still be interesting with flood bots and loading shows me just how much of a petty child you still are.

And your last post shows how seriously you take battle.net. Bots aren't such a big deal. Do your thing, they'll do theirs. Everyone will get over it.
I think of a lot of us would be happy if it came back even remotely. A lot of us went into bot development to see how far we could go. Gaming, talking, etc. MyndFyre has its limits which is part of reason why you hardly get on battle.net even to idle anymore =\ (I think)
It was good fun I have to say...we all move on I suppose one day.
I have to agree, it was funny, but how many cdkeys we screwed up?
How many kids couldn't play starcraft no more on bnet?

No, the reason I hardly get on anymore (even to idle, as you say) is because my primary clan (AoA) is mostly on WoW now.
The reason I even got into bot development is to make something that worked specifically for my clan (AoA) at the time. Of course, I was programming for a couple years before that. But I wondered after Warcraft III came out, "Why isn't there a command like .clan invite <so-and-so> so I don't need to be on my Shaman account all the time? What about some way to track our Battle.net profiles?"
I don't know how long you guys have been with your clans, but even x86 is a different kind of clan than AoA is. We're not hardcore gamers, we're mostly hardcore AoA. We're social, and although all of the people who started the clan have moved on at some point or another, almost all of us are either people who were there in the second year (of our 7 years total), myself included, or relatives (younger siblings/cousins/etc) of people who were there when it started. Even now, some of the founders have come back to talk to us now and then; one is a Maj. General in the Canadian army.
At the time, our Battle.net channel was our clan's means of sustenance and social activity. We didn't have a forum. We didn't really even have an e-mail list.
As far as why I don't idle: 1.) my computer generates too much heat to leave on at night, and 2.) I restart it frequently. I suspect that once I get XP Media Center going, I'll be playing games on that and stop rebooting so much. Or, if I finish the project I'm working on, I can run my BNCS server from my mom's computer and be happy.
I idle for a whole day but never night as my pc over heats too.
About unbanned keys:
I went into a channel, to find it massed with winbot and the person who had loaded them told me, "Shit i didnt know i had that many keys". I can see battle.net get mass flooded and all keys just going back to being muted / banned. I must have like 5000 unmuted cdkeys now, but i haven't touched a cdkey for a long time. :P

I don't understand this, how could your clan get ruined just by losing your channel?
You could move to other channels, or even IRC if it was that big of a problem. Also, if your clan only revolves around ranks and not gaming, why even go on Battle.Net?
The irony of defending people that load mass bots by saying people that don't focus on gaming shouldn't even be on Battle.net is pretty astounding.

IRC wasn't really an option (I don't think many of us knew what it was). Some of us had ICQ, but I never liked it, and I suspect others didn't either.
This was before the time of Clan and Op channels. We tried several channels, but it wasn't as if {bA} couldn't find us.
Anymore it seems to me like Clans are just many people idleing in a channel. I remember back in the day where we just were in channels or clans to meet up to play the game.

Yup, my gaming account is now voided, for gaming I guess...
Now I can't WC3, and I found that game fun! + all my StarCraft keys are banned now I can't idle in Op Dark-Elements@USWest, and I was trying out for them :(
Wow, why do you guys need hundreds or thousands of keys? Compensating for something? Or just enjoy the feeling of having a key that's been with many people before? Your keys are whores...
I have somewhere between 10 and 20 keys ranging from War2 to Starcraft to Warcraft 3 (but not Diablo or TFT). As far as I know, I'm the only person who uses any of them, and none of them have ever gotten banned or muted or anything. It's nice having a small, clean set.
Whoever was testing a lot of keys -- if you're using proxies, why does it matter how many computers you have access to? If it's going through the same proxy, it's going to be on the same IP no matter which computer it was. Or, perhaps the computers you have access to are addressable on the Internet (not NAT'ed), in which case, you shouldn't need proxies. Care to explain why you need both access to many computers and an extensive list of proxies?
I got this a couple of days ago when I tried to get my cdkey unbanned:

We are using a different method of unmuting CD keys and their requests. Unfortunately at this time we are still investingating a possible problem. When it has been sorted out, we will send you a new email with the status of your unmute request. Thank you for your patience.

I think someone's just trying to impress others by lying, similar to when that someone claimed a representative was their sibling.
I think Blizzard just unmuted/unvoided the keys that weren't in use.
It was an accident, since they remuted them all and then some.
Talk about beating a dead horse here.
