No. To be certified to carry a sniper rifle, you have to go through lots of extra training which I am extremely uninterested in. Also, I think you have to be in a combat unit for that, which automatically disqualifies me.

I'd think the hardest part of sniping is not revealing your location to the enemy.

The situation you describe is about as likely as the USA deciding to attack us and wipe us out.
In that case, I don't think I would get in trouble. Any prosecution against me would probably be invalid when we have no government or army high command anymore.

Clarification: Being in a non-combat unit means I don't get involved in any sort of "combat". The weapon is for self-defense only.
