Due to the new Battle.net changes, Clan [vL] is no longer available to us.  Presently, things are setup in channel Op [vL].  Additionally, it's possible that Clan vL may be available for member use some time in the future.

Hazard

How might it be available again in the future Skywing?

What was the recent change on Battlenet? I havent been on to see for myself.

DarkMinion

"Clan " is changed to "Op " for non-war3 users, "Clan " is now reserved for War3 users.

Are you sure that's right? I was on war3 multiple times in the past couple days and could not enter the "clan" channels. Is it possible only war3x (expansion) users can enter those channels?

No, you are able to create "clans" using warcraft 3 client.

Create a 2-4 letter abbreviation and a clan name.
The abbrviation will become your clan channel.

Heres how I did it:
I gathered 10 warcraft users, to join my "clan". Next I went to the nice little clan tab on warcraft 3. Next I clicked create clan. Then I filled out my information and I was set.

You can visit me at Clan xL - @ uswest. If my directions were unclear.

So you have to register a clan with battle.net? You were mentioning having 10 people, is there a minimum requirement? And for entering the channel must you wear the clan tag?

Yes.

10 people :)

All of the users, in the clan join as one, and the channel is created.
Anyone can join after the it is made.
All the users you created the clan with have the abbreviation at the end on their names.

Thanks alot for clearing that up, I never saw that clan tab until last night. I found it dumb that they all have to accept within 10 seconds.

How do you make it so that people can be invited? I tried it, but there was no one in the box, must you be in a private channel and it only lists the people inside the channel?

You have to invite 9 people (plus yourself is 10), to join a private (or op) channel with you and you invite them into your clan and your set.

Wrong. Whenever the channel is created, it is defaulted private. While it is private, only clan members may join. In order to open it to everyone, a Shaman or Chieftain must type /clan public. After that, anybody may join the channel. If everybody leaves the channel, it goes back to being private.

[edit] So basicly non-members cannot create clan channels and only members may join private clan channels.

In my experience He doesnt have to turn it publicly we made one of the first clan channels if not the first and right when skywing created it we were able to join it same with other channels just when he types /private is when no one but clan members can join and /public anyone can join as well if there is no operator there the channel becomes restricted for all users again until he returns very stupid ideas i would think thats just my opinion.
