New bike..

I blew a tire twice yesterday. The tire was warped, so it was rubbing, and the second time was just pointless. So I wasted $4 on a tube, ohwell.

I got a new tire + tube, and now it's ok.

I'm now biking to school. It's 22km each way, so I'm doing about 44km/day. That's more than 27 miles/day.

Pssh, my grandpa still owns you. ~40 miles in ~2 hours (straight) for practice.

Most days, sometimes he only does like 30. Sometimes he doesn't have time to ride, or he's under the weather, or something like that, but he rides as much as he can.

Afterwards he often swims in the pool.

Although I'm reasonably sure I could ride ~40 in a setting, it would be difficult.  My main problem is my bum gets sore from sitting on a hard seat for so long, so I'd have to invest in another seat.  Second, I'm riding a mountain bike, which is considerably harder than riding a bike designed for streets. 

But yeah, I'm happy enough with my 45km/day

Yeah, his is made for riding long distance at fast speeds, on a road.

It's similar to this one, only it's the one that Lance Armstrong used a year or two ago in the tour:



He also uses "butt cream" (not sure of the REAL term, that's what they call it) which probably helps cut down on some of the strain, and when he sprints he sits up, so that helps too I guess. Also, I suspect it's less comfortable in regular clothes instead of ones designed for riding with pads and stuff. You're still like 45 years younger than him though!

I'm sure he paid more than $220 (Canadian) for his bike, and the quality of a bike does make a huge difference

But anyway, like I said, I COULD bike as much as him, but I just don't have the time.  Plus, my butt would hurt

My dad rides for Kings Lynn and norfolk. He is in the news paper here. He came 2nd out of about 100 riders, and done alot of miles very fast. (Forgot miles / speed.)

Edit: He rides a racing bike. He has Armstrong's bike. I forgot his first name.. But also has another bike but i dunno what make.
