I joined this game yesterday for something else, and then figured that it'd be fun if I  did it with people I actually know so I made a new game on the site for the forum. Basically it's just playing the stock market using fake money, and see who can come out on top. You'll start with $100,000 and I have it set do do either USD or CAD seeing as how we have a lot of Canadians here. Anyone is welcome to join, and of course the market opens tommorow at 9:30 AM EST so that's when we'll start.

I'm not sure how much of a following this will get, but I like the stock market and my grandpa is really into it so we talk about it a lot.

"The current time is 1:51:49 PM  Eastern Standard Time (EST). The market re-opens at 9:30 AM EST, which is 20 hours and 38 minutes away."

SO LONG AWAY!

I don't know that I'll play for a week or so (I'm gone)

CrAz3D

I did it in 6th grade, 8th grade, & my econ class in highschool.  We ever finished it in 6th grade or my econ class (we didn't do much about econ in that class:().  I did quite well in 8th grade

Brooks Automation (BRKS) was pretty good to me today, I gained $1925 off of them between the vL and Investopedia game. I'd recommend buying this as they're buying Helix Technology. This puts the odds in our favor for getting a good payout as after Brooks aquires them we will also own 61% of Helix, so we'll be getting profits from both.

BKRS Change:   Down 0.28 (1.80%)

Yes, but it went up from what I originally payed. This is more of a long term stock for me, I'm waiting for the acquisition, so I'll deal with it even if I do lose some money at first. My grandfather said I should treat it like real money so I actually learn before I invest big time with real money, so that's how I'm going to handle it.

HELX was up 2.80 yesterday, and I bought both, but neither are showing up :'(

It takes 20 minutes on the site. If you bought at the same time you posted then you won't actually own it until tommorow because the market is closed. I'm playing two games, the vL one and the main one that you're automatically put into. I'm not doing as well as I'd like. ASEI is pwning me on one of my accounts.

Cutter & Buck is a golf clothing company. I got a tip from an article to expect growth, and I had made about $320 as of about 3:45 PM, I'm not sure what happened.

iBasis Inc. is a very interesting penny stock that I'm watching. Usually it's best to stay clear of penny stops, but after some news yesterday they could very well end up being the largest VoIP network in the world.

Suggestions welcome. You should all also watch "Mad Money" it's a stock show hosted by Jim Cramer on CNBC Monday-Friday at 6PM EST. I forgot about it today so I'll catch the rerun at 9. I watch it a couple times a week, it's really informative and at the same time ammusing. He yells and argues and gets all worked up and stuff. It's great.
