Most, real, preps are smart - afterall, most go to prep schools and then go on to good schools and all that; unless you're my mom. Maybe you hate the fake preps, Hazard? I really don't like this new preppy trend - (no offence to anyone, like CrAz3D) - of slutty Abercrombie clothes, or American Eagle, or Aeropostale, etc.

Hazard

I just graduated from a prep school, and most of the preppy kids are the morons. Preps honestly believe that their money alone makes them superior or that their money makes them smarter, which is ironic because it is rarely true. I hate real and fake preps. As a word to Abercrombie, AE, Hollister, Aeropostale, etc. as Lewis Black says "Kids, you don't have to spend a lot of money to look like SHIT!" Why spend money on clothes that are all worn out and faded? I mean shit, all my faded clothes have gotten like that the manly way.

I buy all of my clothes without holes (except for like arms & neck & legs & such).  I generally buy EVERYTHING on sale EVERYWHERE.  The most I've ever spent on a shirt is $35 for a nice dress shirt @ Folery's for like church...most on pants is $40 for dress slacks from JC Penny's.  I'm currently wearing a $15 polo (reg. $30) & $20 shorts (reg. $20, I think).  I don't dress slutty, I pick what I like & go from there.

Your post is nothing more than a generalization, no better than me saying "everybody who wears this nouveau-riche stuff like Abercrombie is a slut." Sure, it practically promotes porn it would seem, and the clothes show off half the body and are ugly and gross and slutty and tacky, etc. but that doesn't mean everybody is a slut.

You should have gone to public school, there the kids make fun of you if you're upper-middle class/upper class as opposed to the opposite going on in (I assume it's the same everywhere as it is here) prep schools.

This is, more or less, the first time I remember disagreeing with you on something.

It was response to your post, obviously. When I started typing it CrAz3D hadn't replied.

From kindergarten through 8th grade I went to public school.

Thats not how it goes, actually.

Any of you guys in college?
I will be this fall...

I only wear my color up on blazers... and only one blazer. Oh yeah, and my starwars jacket because that is basically the only way to wear it.

I don't find it hard to beleive, but I'm still not sure if you're referring simply to "crombie-zombies" who always say "like" and stuff. Probably not, that's what I have to deal with.

No? Explain.

I gotta agree with Hazard, I've never seen anyone made fun of for being 'prep'

Not really at a public school anyway. I mean sure you get people like me who hate preppy kids and a few of my buddies who pick on them, but its never the vast majority picking on a vast minority.

Trust, what do you think putting your collar up is? It's a TREND! Even back in the day! You're not original, you're like 12 years old. You cant put your collar up and say youre not doing it because you know somebody else did, or you saw it on MTV, or you heard about it from your parents - sorry trust, you cannot avoid the fact that it's a trend. Might as well put it back up, accept the fact that it's called the party collar sometimes, and get on with looking at your gay porn.

Abercrombie is slutty? The hell. Nug.

That's not what I was saying. He was saying how in his school everyone was elitist and looked down upon those that weren't as affluent as the rest. I was saying, since he didn't like that, he'd be better off in public school. In my school, at least, people are more likely to be mean to you if you are slightly affluent. Mainly because everyone here is pretty poor/on welfare. =P I don't think I've seen people, in real life at least, get picked on for being a prep. I've seen people make fun of the clothes/collar up thing, however.

I meant the whole trend that it's become associated with mainstream media, such as 50 Cent, Kanye West, etc. I know it was a trend before, I'd be dumb not to know that. Even though it started as just a way to add flair to school uniforms and/or hide hickies. Well, I think originally it was in rugby team locker rooms. Since they couldn't talk about personal stuff really, they'd wear their collar up to signify they got laid the night before or something. That was back when rugby was an elite mens sport and all that good stuff. I'll accept the fact that it's called the party collar, but it's just a term I hadn't heard. I guess it'd probably be used more frequently on college campuses.

Holes exposing half of your leg definitely don't fit into the "classy" category, I really can't see how that's not at least somewhat slutty. Plus, the store/catalog is like a porn movie when you walk in there (or so I've heard.)
