took a 68' Camaro made it into cell shading/cartoonie look or what ever. Made the background.

Looks like you just used the Cutout filter.

QuoteToo cliche IMO. What he has now looks original. Oh, and he doesn't visit this forum anymore

Interesting point, but I feel calling it shadow whatever, and using light pastel colors would just be a bad combo.

QuoteLooks like you just used the Cutout filter.

I think they call that vectorizing.

Well, I want some too. Greedy Yoni should stop hogging it.

Yes but I doubt he did that himself.  Using the photoshop filter is easier.

Akamas

Umm... no shit, you have to use the filter to get the "vectorizing effect". I didn't say you were incorrect, I was just stating what its name was.

He's pretty bad ass. Horus doesn't look like it's done on a computer it looks like it's made out of a metal.
He does his by hand using a digital pen and something.  Sometimes scans things in and then makes art out of it
I forgot which one he did, but one of them was a ciggerette scanned in and then modified into art.

You can do vectorizing by hand, you don't need a filter to do it.

Obviously everything that an algorithm can do a human can do, and most of the times better by avoiding patterns.

Why the hell would you even post that? Obviously you can do vectorizing by hand, much prefer the filter because then you don't have to waste the time.

Wow, chill out.  You must have some grudge against me, yet I do not even know who you are.  Look at your prior post, "you have to use the filter to get the "vectorizing effect"."  Perhaps that is some justification to my post?

Akamas

No I have nothing against you, and I understand that the filter isn't required but inorder to create the effect properly you have to use the filter. Most photoshop artists can't create the effect from just using the tool palatte.

Maybe that means most Photoshop artists are not really artists?

Soloar Voyager is an excellent site I found if any of you are into Celestial Art. They have a very good forum community, and a lot of tutorials/tips/tricks available to the aspiring celestial artist.

In the forum check out the artwork gallery to see some of the work they have done. Of course some is better than others because it is an open forum, but there is some really nice stuff.

For content I give it a A+, but from looking at its layout it isn't very eye catching and I hate the idea of a splash page.
