THE FOLLOWING IS AN ACTUAL TRANSCRIPT OF A CONVERSATION BETWEEN THE U.S. NAVY AND CANADIAN AUTHORITIES OFF THE COAST OF NEWFOUNDLAND:

U.S. Navy: Canadian vessel, alter your course 15 degrees north to avoid a colission.

Canadian Authorities: Negative, alter your course 15 degrees south.

U.S. Navy: I say again, alter your course 15 degrees north to avoid a colission.

Canadian Authorities: No, you alter your course.

U.S. Navy: This is the U.S.S. Linclon, the second largest ship in the US Atlantic Fleet. We are accompanied by 3 destoyers, 2 cruisers, a Sea Wolf class nuclear attack submarine, and numerous other support vessels. Now, I say again alter your course 15 that is one - five degrees north to avoid a colission or countermeasures will be taken to ensure the safety of this battle group.

Canadian Authorities: We are a light house. It's your call.
