4.0, not including weighted classes.

AP classes give you .03 and IB gives you .01 if you're in that.

shout

1. Chem
2. Trig
3. Spanish III
4. C++
5. Gym :(

I have  a 1.9 because my freshman and sophmore years I skipped alot and passed mabye one class the whole time.

Since the start of my junoir year I have a 94% though. :)

I've always heard that the "maximum" GPA is 4.0, but you can get more-than-maximum by doing non-fun things.

@ my cousins' school in Round Rock, TX there basic grading scale was a 6 point.. I don't know how it worked though.

Here an A in an AP class USED to count as a 5, now it is the same as a general regular ed class...that is super dumb.

You don't find AP Latin IV to be fun!?

I find almost anything that's not computer-related non-fun.

AP Computer Science can raise your GPA above a 4.0. :)

We didn't have GPs in HighSchool or earlier, it was always just percentages.  I think GPs would have been loads better because my GPA would look better than my actual percentile average.

My GPA right now is crappily floating above 3...but I've gotten less lazy, so it's on an upward trend.

I don't think a lot of places really look at your GPA though (for hiring).  Their more interested in how you *fit* with the rest of the company.  I'd rather hire a graduate with a 2.5 GPA that would converse with other employee's (and ultimately keep morality in the workplace up) than hire someoen w/ a 4.5 GPA that refused to associate with anyone, and was always glued to a monitor (even if he did get more programmatical work done)

I read somewhere (here?) that highschool GPAs/class choice don't really matter much when going into a computer field. Just be sure to major in something dealing with math/science/computers in college, and a great school isn't as required for more professional jobs.

Schools that don't have GPAs, but instead comments, have a better college acceptance rate since it's not a fixed thing - it's a teachers opinion. Some elite prepatory schools do this, but not very many.

Falcon[anti-yL]

I take AP classes so my GPA can be 5 instead of 4.

hismajesty

How many are you taking? You get .03/class, I doubt you're gonna raise it too much over a 4.

Falcon[anti-yL]

4, but its still better than having your GPA limited at 4.
