General Discussion / Re: Deciding on which monitor?

http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-2048X1536-Perflat-Blk-Crt/dp/tech-data/B000CRI8AU/ref=de_a_smtd/002-7241590-3322433

Ordering one myself next week. I've heard alot of good things about Viewsonic, and this model from them.

Generally, it is all a personal preference. If you can afford it, then colocation is by far the best option, in my opinion. The only risks you take there is hardware failuer won't be covered by the provider, and the servers are 100% self-managed, and another thing is, you have to build or ship out a prebuilt system to the datacenter of choice.. The dedicated option is good for the first time user, that doesn't want to use a VPS or a shared reseller account. If you are just starting out, I would suggest going in the following order: Shared Reseller / VPS / Dedicated / Colocation.

<?php
//Make sure the pictures are in the same directory, for this examples sake.
$array = array("image.jpg"image.gif", "image.png", image.bmp");
$rand  array_rand($array);

echo
$rand;
?>

It's as simple as that.

General Discussion / Re: Best OS for a server

iago uses Slackware for x86labs.org and javaop.com. He's got 99% uptime, and IMO, it's rather fast. Having hosting with him is nice, too, but I'm not him so I can't tell you how hard it was to set up.

Uptime is not judged by the OS, in certain instances, MAYBE, but not enough to really make a difference.

I'd probably say FreeBSD would be best, followed by pretty much any Linux.

Invert -- Getting PHP, Apache, and MySQL on a Windows server is more trouble than it's worth, I've found.

Was easy for me. On all builds I've installed it on.

As for Linux, CentOS Server 4.x works well, Red Hat Enterprise 3-4, ss well as other distros. However Solaris is nice to use, if your familiar with it.

Second, why does it matter if you're denied ftp access?  You should be using ssh/sftp, not ftp to control the server!

Quite a bit of hosts do not allow SSH. sFTP is iffy.

http://boxyweb.co.uk
http://diawyn.com

O wait, maybe it did, lumicorp is a joke though, I sold that guy my accounts, at the time, on that server, and he doesn't manage things well. That's why all my former and his current clientel have switched back to me, Hopefully my service was good for you. :)

I host that, as my reseller. I also run http://www.advahost.com if you are of need of a good service. My JT1-Orion server (quad xeon) is in Atlanta, GA; and my backup server (and failsafe) is located in Dallas, TX.
Not any more Lumicorp took ovger the box I believe. But was the best profile link I have ever clicked, I thank you. :)

The attribute you need to pass through the iframe tag, is <frameborder="0"> or <frameborder="">
