Were those binary counters or just moving leds? (i.e. 16 states or 5 states?)

It would seem to hard to make two clocked synchronous 4-bit counters using just 8 and gates and 4 or gates.

So what you were measuring basically was to activate both S and R, and then release them simultaneously and see which way it flipped?

I did stuff like that last year, in Engineering (It sucks when the teacher doesn't know what he is teaching). This year, we're using big bulky machines. I believe the class I took was with the program "Project Lead the way". I think the actual class was called Digital Electronics. And this year we I'm in Computer Integrated Manufacturing. CNC machines are cool  :P.

Here are some vides and pictures of the robot I worked on this spring.  I did most of the visual stuff - using webcam to determine where the robot is along with handholds - and also the Java gui that is used to control the robot (as seen in the second video).  Was quite a fun project.  Hopefully I'll get to improve upon my work this coming spring.
