Linux apps to die for

Ah, now that I got this damn Package manager working... what are some apps / progs that a linux user can't live without, list some cool stuff whether it;s desktop enhancement or just programs.

If you don't already have "The GIMP", "Gaim", "Firefox", or "Thunderbird", I suggest you get 'em all.

(I realize half of those are probably not on the package manager, but they're still leet)

And that AMOR (Amusing Waste of Resources) is indeed amusing. :)

I prefer to use konqueror when I am  on linux just because it has built in spell checking. Fire fox is my browser of choice on windows.

Wine sucks but I suggest you get it.

All of those are probably already on his computer. And it's not that hard to get an extension for firefox that checks spelling.
To lazy for slackware.

I noticed that Konqueror has spellchecking the first time I used it to post on the vL forums.  I couldn't figure out why in the world words were being underlined! :P

Because it's slow and barely ever works. Plus it's ugly.

yeah, half the crap I try to run with it gives me an error message. You can never game from it because of the lag, etc.

I've never had any problems with it but I've never really tried to run anything big from it.
To lazy for slackware.

What do you mean it's ugly? It looks the exact same as windows 2000!!

I once posted some screenshots to prove that point, but I don't know where they are..
