Windows System Trey

This has happened a few times and becomes very irritating.  When I have programs minimized to the system trey, sometimes the trey makes those programs disapear (bots for instance) but the program processes still run.  However, it's impossible to continue using the app unless you restart it.  Does anyone know how to restore the system trey so you can get back to the programs?

Bring up task manager. highlight the task you want and hit the switch to button
To lazy for slackware.

That's the first thing I attempted.  That doesn't work.

Stop using bots which don't restore their system tray icon when explorer restarts.

I used to have that problem, but lately, even when Explorer crashes, the icons restore themselves.  I'm guessing this is a Windows XP feature.  

I know I saw code on this forum a LONG time ago for programs to restore themselves when explorer crashed, but I wouldn't even know who posted it or anything :/
