I would like to learn VB or C++

But there is a kink in my learning. I can't download VB/C++ programs on my 56k.. This is a horriable 76 hour download.

Is there any other programs that are easy download time for a 56k?

You mean that your modem knows what language something was compiled in and varies the download time accordingly?  If so, you really need a new modem that isn't so smart.  The only thing that should matter is how big the program turned out once the compile was done (which will to some degree be affected by the language in which the program was written).  In the meantime, maybe you should download some programs written in QBasic.  I doubt your modem will object to those.

http://www.bloodshed.net/dev/devcpp.html - C++ IDE/Compiler. It's free, legal, and a pretty light download. If you're looking for a copy of MSVC++ (or VS.NET) there's a lot of books out there which come with a copy of them. I've got at least 2 copies of MSVC++ 6 learning edition via books.

Well, you could always just buy the program and buy a book so that you can learn. Then from what you learn from the book you can play around with the program. This also depends on what you want to create. Do you want to learn how to program so you can make bots? Or other things?

I addressed the issue you stated was at the heart of the problem - that you cannot download programs [written] in VB/C++ without extremely long download times.

That will not make it download faster, it'll amke it download slower if anything.

I have never downloaded faster off kazaa than I have off of any decent website.

Oh. But still because the speed incresses the more the users have the file. Also depending on thier connection.

Kazaa won't help if it's your own connection that is slowing it down.
