How does one determine the number of users in games...?

It tells you when you login to Battle.net in that info stuff.

No, it tells you the number of users on the client you're on, the number of games open on the client you're on, and repeats for all of Battle.net. And just so everyone's clear, that info covers all four gateways no matter which you're on.



And.... Here's my resulting graph. Looks as expected... More people on in the day, less on at night, with a weekend spike... not much gaming in either case
