I have had this huge dell monitor for years with no problems, but starting to look into flat screen monitors now. Kinda want more desk space xD There computers on the other hand, I learned to hate them from experience and it led me to building my own comp.

I'll be poking around with these links. A tablet monitor would be cool for art but might not have the money for one of those hehe.

CNET has a comparison of the 2005FPW with a couple others, including Viewsonic.

Looks like from the summary the Viewsonic is on top and the Dell on bottom.

Interesting! The VX2025wm wasn't available at the time I bought my 2005FPW, I think (it looks to have come out around March 2006).

1. Who needs tech support on a monitor anyhow?

2. I use a Dell.. something or another monitor that came with my box a few years ago. It serves me well and I don't see any reason to replace it.

Ordering one myself next week. I've heard alot of good things about Viewsonic, and this model from them.

Dude, in case you missed it, thats a CRT.  Probably weighs 50 pounds.

Edit:  58.2 pounds according to that link.

Just ordered Viewsonic VX2025wm.  My priorities for selection were first price, then performance.  I just need something adequate for WoW and programming.  The 1680x1050 resolution is approximately what I use on my 21" CRT, which I'm just tired of lugging up and down stairs.

I perfer Sony. I'd had my 21" slick look monitor for about 2-3 years now and it hasn't caused me not 1 trouble. I love it.

I just got the ViewSonic VX2235wm and it is awesome to use! Especially with my previous monitor being 17" flatscreen CRT.

No dead pixels or any problems that I've come across. Works incredibly well with FEAR (highest settings, patch v1.08 supporting widescreen), and CSS also looks great on it. I tried Battlefield 2 (demo) running it at 1280x960 as it doesn't support widescreen, and this resolution still looks really good on, the stretch isn't noticeable. I also opened up a few dvds on it and the quality looked awesome compared to what I've seen them as before. So far it definately feels like a great buy! :D

I also got a basic keyboard, and the Razor Copperhead Tempest Blue mouse which works beautifully. The only downside to the mouse is because my old mouse wasn't that sensitive I had the settings up real high, and the switch made my new mouse's sensitivity so high that moving it less than a centimetre would move the cursor across the entire 1650x1080 screen corner to corner. So it took about 10 minutes of adjusting and testing in games until I got it setup.

Nice selection, I currently have two VX2235wm's, they work great!
