Hi everyone,

Me and my brother are having a hard time playing warcraft II online together. We keep getting the 'High Latency' error. I know this is because we are on the same network. Does anyone out there know a solution to this? The router we have is a DI-604 if that information is needed.

Thanks in advance everyone!

I tried what that website said and still getting the error...

If it helps I am 192.168.0.101 and my brother is 192.168.0.25

Here is a screen shot that i created each port and how I did it.....

As you can see I made each one for me (192.168.0.101), is that how I was suppose to do this?

Thanks in advance!

It's not nice to post BMPs.  Convert it to a PNG next time.  If you're using Windows XP, MSPaint supports resaving as a PNG.

Sorry about that Kp. here is a new screenshot

Me: 192.168.0.101
My Brother: 192.168.0.25

Don't know that matters but there you go.

You do realize that .25 is probably a static IP and .101, the one you're forwarding to, is probably dynamic? Try changing them all to .25 or get a static IP - it makes no sense to forward to a dynamic IP.

? I'm lost on what you are saying? If i go to my brothers computer and type ipconfig /all the ip adress is 192.168.0.25 and if I do it on myne i get 192.168.0.101

So if im wrong plz correct me so i can find the solution. Thanks in advance.

Oh...I forgot PortForward explains static IPs in the most crappy manner ever...

Then again, I can't really explain how to get one either.

Can't you just forward to the .25, your brothers?

I changed all of them from .101 to .25 and it still didn't work. Why dont you contact me via AIM

raylu

Heh, because I never get on AIM.

When you tried it, was your brother still on .25? Who was hosting?

yes his static ip is 192.168.0.25, That never changes. I tried him hosting and me hosting but still no luck. Maybe when u have some spare time perhaps u can log on aim for a few minutes and help me? that would be appreciated. Thanks raylu

Sorry about the double post but after doing some research the reason i believe the port forwarding is not working correctly is that i have a dynamic ip address. Would I have to contact my ISP to switch to a static ip address and would this cost money? Would anyone know a tutorial for switching to static ip address perferably to go with my router? Thanks in advance!

raylu

Dynamic LAN address, not dynamic WAN.
