IExplorer continuously crashing for no reason.

My IE lately has been crashing for no reason...I did encounter a spyware attack recently where my pc became flooded by pop ups after pop ups. ( Thank you Newgrounds + Lyrics websites ) Anywho, so I ran spy doctor, ad-aware, spy sweeper, hijack this, and Microsoft anti-spyware..but to no success..the problem still persists. $:-\$

Lets say im on vL ( Like I obviously am now.. )
I get a window...

Then I click dont send..

It shuts down.

My major problem with this is that I only got this kind of error report on WinXp. ( I now use 2000 NT ).

If No one knows how to solve this, is there at least a way to turn that error report off in services?

If IE's the only software failing, it's likely that you missed one or more pieces of malware which bond to IE. Fortunately, such a crash will only happen if you use IE. Thus, if you stop using IE, the problem will go away.

If you're determined to use IE anyway, consider checking what add-ons are loaded, or set IE to ignore third-party (i.e. not Microsoft) add-ons. Not sure if it actually honors that, or if it'll be honored on an infested system. Also, use Sysinternals' Process Explorer to view what DLLs are loaded in the IE process when it crashes. If you see some that you can't explain, they may be the cause. Deleting them outright may not be the best course of action, however.

Also it changes my Default browser to...About:blank....

Oh webroot spysweeper found like sooo much about 80 items, but not ONE it could get rid of...bullshit trial, it makes you want to buy it. They trial USED to solve the problem.

You don't get Spyware from having a slow computer. You get it from either running stupid programs or using an insecure browser that lets programs install themselves.

It is likely that you have one or more pieces of malware that are going to require manual removal. Sometimes it is as simple as booting into "Safe Mode" and removing the offending files/registry keys. More persistane ones will require booting to a CD to remove the files being loaded.

Yeah but if you have a slow pc multiple spyware/malware attacks will affect process' making it slow down and harder to stop more from downloading. $:-\$

2ndly, I guess I removed most of the threat? Now McaFee wont uninstall...it comes to an error when I say to uninstall...AND its always running in processes so I cant manually delete...any suggestions?

( P.S. When I goto safe mode my monitor shuts off, or goes into standby, not being read by the pc. )

Don't offer an alternative browser ... if he wanted one, he wouldn't have created this.

Anyway, did you try reinstalling IE? I had that same problem just a few months ago, and reinstalling seemed to do the trick.

How do you reinstall IE without reinstalling the whole OS?

Ishbar: consider using the Recovery Console to reconfigure the system since safe mode doesn't work for you.

My main priority is getting rid of Mcafee...

Its ALWAYS running whether I turn it off in MsConfig or not

Whether I tell it to NOT start up

I cant delete files cause they are "in use"

It wont uninstall cause Mcafee is "Running"

Seriously WTF its like a virus in itself, what kind of company makes it literaly impossible to uninstall their software thats meant to HELP you!!!

It sounds like this would be a good time to reinstall your os. Back up your important files and boot off your Windows XP cd. Follow the steps. Good luck.

Win 2k, I dont have the CD anymore. Wtf this program was like MADE to be impossible to get rid of....and now its taking up 95% of my CPU Space!
