Starcraft when it was in Alpha and Beta stages

I seen this on BWH and found it pretty cool and figure I would show this to people who haven't seen it befor.

1. In 1996, Starcraft Alpha finally emerges!! however....

There is a unit that looks like a carrier, and that thingy that looks like a crab is guardian...


There is mutalisk and overlord....


The graphic interface of Starcraft alpha... there is only mineral no gas, and overlord can do attack of 4...

That looks like a hatchery and there is this hovering mineral field where drones can fly... Its freaky!!

Because of the success of Warcraft, they decided to go forward with Starcraft, but it was a failure. So they decided to dump the Warcraft 2 interface and decided to make a complete separate one.

2. Starcraft Alpha 2!!!

Finally, it looks like the starcraft of today!! but.. dropship is hella big... it can load 8 goliaths..

Hmm doesn't the display picture look similar to the one in dropship??


There are scouts!! Amazingly, it is going head to head with golliaths and what it appears to be early valkyarie.. and scouts are fatasses...

3. 1997, Starcraft BETA!

Now we can see that there are gases now, and the display picture of wraith is congruent to the one today.. And the wraith's name changed from pheonix to wraith..


lol.. Science Vessel has legs!!! but it apperas that the creep has disappeared  and the size of the dropship has been reduced.


Now everything looks normal, except there are few awkwardness.


The buildings and units of protoss... Gateway and Nexus looks gay..


It looks like the shuttle is crawling, and gateway has been cut off...


Terran Buildings.....


Battle between Terran and Protoss... Their flying patterns are wierd and there seems to be an unknown terran flying object..

That thing on the top left is sunken colony... ITS A FLOWER FOR GOD'S SAKE!!

4. 1997 Beta 2, gamers could now obtain the copy


Very similar to the current Starcraft, but its missing 2% of the whole thing..

I actually took the time to look and read the caption to all of those pics. very informative post, sc has definitely come a long way.. now if they could just find a way to own all them flooders/loaders and make bnet for what it's supposed to be! GAMING!

One thing I found pretty cool and wonder why they took it out is the tanks attacking air units, I don't see how it is any disadvantages or unfair. Also I wonder what the life span for zerg units was I looked into it see if I could get any more info but it seems blizzard never documented that part I really would like to see what that was all about.
