No sound

I computer doesn't seem to play any sound at all. One day I was defragmenting and the next day no sounds comes out. I've tried using headphones and my speakers and nothing. My volume isn't on mute -.-. Any help is appreciated.

Of course but why would it matter since I am not getting sound through my headphones either.

Your sound card (onboard sound?) is probably lacking drivers and/or broken.

Happened to me on my last computer, my onboard soundcard crapped out one day.  I bought a $25 sound card from newegg and it has worked for the last two years.
