QuoteIn order to get a BotID and password, contact Skywing[vL] by visiting Clan [vL] on USEast.

I thought it said somewhere else you could get on BotNet without this?

You can logon to BotNet without a user account, however a hub account is required.

Hm...BNetDocs isn't too specific, and the protocol specification on the vL main site is vague...

So I don't need to send 0x01, but I need to send 0x0D?

Vice versa.

Feel free to write a new one based on your observations and submit the result to [someone in charge]. But don't expect anything to be done anytime soon.

Meh. I can't even update my status without sending 0x01. I thought you (LoRd) wrote a bot (BBBB, I think) that connected to BotNet without a BotID?

While I'm waiting for someone to approve mine (http://bnetdocs.valhallalegends.com/content.php?Section=m&Code=107,  "In order to get a BotID and password, contact Skywing[vL] by visiting Clan [vL] on USEast."), what exactly are databases and the account in 0x0D for? IOW, what is the the difference between the account, the B.net username, and the BotID?

Note: Somebody needs to put the BotNet address and port somewhere so that first-time developers (me) can see it. I had to packetlog a bot with BotNet support just to figure out where to connect.
Pie?

Perhaps Kp can advise the best course of action for obtaining a hub account?

I've contacted him previously and he said that Skywing was the only one who could issue hub accounts.

Basic Battle.net Binary Bot can log onto the BotNet without a user account.

There are 3 types of BotNet ID's: The hub ID, which is the account that you need to access the BotNet; the user ID, your unique name while on the BotNet and your database ID, which allows you to use the BotNet's database functions.

Quote[16:20:20] [vL] (*[vL]%5) is on the BotNet under database [vL] (with write access) from channel op [vl] on server 63.240.202.138.

UserLoser.

Don't forget your access to the usage of the database is based on the password you're using to it.

Buy WoW, go to Durotan, and hunt down Skywing or Silmalia. :)

Hm...so there is no way to connect to BotNet without getting prior approval from Skywing?
Pie?

Go get WebBot, see what it sends (since it's all plain text) then use that or something since it's your only hope

raylu

Egh, I was thinking of doing that...

But what do you mean my only hope? There is no way to get an ID?
Pie?

There's no way to get a hold of Skywing unless you do as Kp said.
