I am trying to do some PreCalc homework and I am having problems..  I don't know why, maybe it is just to easy for me to get..  But anyways, here is the problem:

Instructions: Find a number t such that the line passing through the two given points has slope -2.

Problem: (t + 1,5); (6, -3t + 7)

I am really confused, what do I do?

Well, the equation for the slope between two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is Rise/Run or (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) = m.  So, you have the slope, the two points.  Now you can plugin the values and solve for t using simple algebra.

Omfg, thanks for pointing out the obvious. Haha,  I'm sorry, I must be having a bad math day.  Thanks!
