It does take up more space, but the main purpose is to give people who talk karma bad karma. That way, if they care about karma and would talk karma, they'll refrain from talking karma to not get bad karma

It's more fun to have a second bot which is lowering your karma, and seeing who has better flood protection!

Actually, I did load two of those bots for a while. So every time someone spoke karma, there was a chain reaction until the bots flooded.

Actually, an instance I had running on my 200MHz back at home was idle for around 150 days or so until the power went out (feel free to donate a UPS).
