Track record? The only game that I know of they created was Half-Life - which is one of my favorite games (mods included).

Why would that be? Like I'm sure this will be game of the year... Easily.

Track record meaning being on-time with counter-strike/half-life updates.

Honestly, 1.3/4/5 were great, but in my opinion 1.6 is horrible.

Eden.SeVeN

there is a forum board for CS 1.6, that has a list of posts that say for them to take the shield out for CTS

i was playing the other day, unloaded about 2 clips of an AK into the shield and it didnt do anything, once i ran out of bullets or in the middle of reloaded, he gets his pistol out and HS with a deagle

didnt know a tactical shield can handle a lot of AK bullets in real life...

Originally they said it would deflect pistols and weak guns (tmp, mac10) but awp and colt and ak and those guns would still do damage although greatly reduced... I feel that the accuracy of the gun should be waived though, seeing as how it's held with 1 hand (notice now that it's held with 2 hands, in 1.6 you'll have the shield in 1 hand and the gun in the other...).

It should also be able to break, and knock you back some when you are being fired at.

A friend told me that they wanted to make shields block all bullets.  And in the current beta version i'm playing right now it does exactly that so u don't shoot at the shield u run at the guy with the shield and try to get a shot at his side or behind.

Splorygon -- When they draw their pistols (the shield users) you can shoot them right?

Noodlez -- Condition Zero is not run on the new HL2 engine unfortunately ???
Unless your talking about Counter-Strike 2 which will still be a long time.

[edit] Not only does the wood BREAK but it splinters and shatters too... it's insane. Being able to move the camera is pretty cool too that must have taken some work I haven't seen that in any other game. I wonder if falling barrels will recieve dents as they fall?

when they move the shield to shoot at you you can aim for their head and get them only if they are hitting you or u can run to the side they are shooting from to try and get a bigger view at their body

They are basing CS2 on the HL2 engine, right?

Yes.  I suggest you download Steam and check out the media on the servers.  Very nice physics and graphics in the HL2 engine.

Arta

ooh, i've seen the video. That's why I want CS2 to be based on HL2 :)

that game looks *a-m-a-z-i-n-g* and when it's out I'll put my life on hold and play it in every available waking hour  ;D

j0k3r

Haha... If it is it would definitely be nicer, and with any luck it will be like other games (swat2?) where the terrorists must infiltrate a building in the middle of new york from a helicopter and the terrorists have interactive hostages...

Unfortunately you have to wait for HL2 to be released, then for a modder to get the source, then for the modder to make, debug and test it... Basically it will be a long time still.

I hope you're not talking about CS2.
