I rode home from school today in sub-zero (well, sub-32 farenheit) weather.  It wasn't so bad, but my back brake broke :)
This'll make an interesting test for broken AV:

Broke, as in stopped working? Did you find that out first-hand from a fall? :)

No, it just became very very loose, so when I push (pull? squeeze? apply?) it, nothing happens.  I still have a front break, and I discovered it going at low speed, so it's all good.
