My girlfriend just bought a laptop (less than two weeks ago) for when she goes away to college. It was a gateway 7118 or something like that. I can get exact information if interested, this is from memory. It was $750 new, athlon 64, 512mb ram, 80gb HD, radeon x500, came with xp media center edition on it.

So in the movie theater the arm rests move up so I guess people can cuddle and stuff.
Actually, they're for (really) fat people, but yeah, that seems the more common use.

Not according to the Wikipedia page, but now that you mention it I remember it meaning that. Maybe it has a dual meaning?
It's called a backronym.

By the way, her first choice was $370 and the one she got was $200-something. Both of those prices are pre-alteration costs. Nearly $400 for a dress is insane, considering she's a sophmore so it's not even senior or prom..or at least HER junior prom.
Hey, this year *is* my girlfriend's senior prom and she only spent $180 on her dress. Tickets are $80/each though, including a dinner. :/

She's coming over later. We're going to watch TV, I guess.

A yes or no, one word answer will suffice for either of these questions. Yes, there is a point to this, but I would like to get a few answers before I get around to it.

Question #1:

Do you think President Bush lied to America when he said quote: "Saddam Hussein's nuclear program and weapons of mass destruction are a threat to the security of the United States of America." ?

And question #2:

Who did you vote for, Bush or Kerry?
1. No
2. No

The college selection process is hard, especially when you don't have grades to match the "you're brilliant" comments people give you. Unfortunately it doesn't matter how qualified you actually are for a school if you don't have paper to prove it, which only makes this whole thing that much difficult.
Errg, agreed.

We need a neutral zone between Federation and Romu.... I mean, between the US and Mexico.  Anyone crossing into the neutral zone could be killed on sight.  We could set up laser turrets every few miles and blast anything with a human heat signature.
Sure would be alot of fried bunnies then I'd bet ;)

But yeah, armed men in SUVs & military humvees with 50 caliber weapons on US soil?...that is a threat to national security if I've ever heard of anything
Yeah, because the US doesn't have a military presence in any other country, of course.

I recommend checking out CraigsList for matresses.  I got a like new queen size mattress with a boxspring and pillow top for free.  people who are moving often don't want to deal with moving a mattress and will just get a new one, so they want to sell their old one for cheap, or even give it away.
I hope you got that thing sterelized before you used it.

1) I can't find anything about this on mainstream news
2) Bush has been misinformed too

EDIT:
"Nearly 50 percent of Hispanic young people do not graduate high school..."
He probably mis-spoke or something similar.

Census.gov (it seems) says that 57% of Hispanics have a highschool diploma, though
Even if 57% of hispanics have a highschool dimploma it doesn't mean 57% of hispanics are graduating these days. It could very well be higher or lower, the number he gave may be right.

Bush should be king.
WTF?
Maybe somebody needs to take a class on sarcasm.

I was being serious...
sarcasm again, I assume/hope

No, not really. Maybe "king" is pushing it, but I've taken such a strong liking to that man I dread the day when he is no longer my President. I wish there was something that could be done to keep him as our leader for years to come (until I'm of age, of course. :P)
Change is nice always
No it's not. Change is evil, it corrupts our morals and kills babies. Won't somebody please think of the children??

They also said invest heavily before the pd and x2 came out and that so far has fizzled.
Haha, fizzled? Yesterday I checked that stupid stock market simulator thing that trust posted a link to a while ago. This was definately before the x2 came out, and I had a bunch of AMD stock and it's up 70% since I bought it. A gain of $13,440 off of a $19,200 initial investment isn't exactly what I would call "fizzled", more like "damn, I wish that was real money".
