Velociraptor.

That wasn't even a real dinosaur!  Well, it was real, but it was nothing like it was in the movies, they're small and feathered.  Link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velociraptor)

My favorite dinosaur, which took me forever to remember what it's called, is the Anklyosaurus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankylosaurus), because it's 10 meters and 4.5 tons and armor plated.  It's the biggest armored dinosaur ever.

But arn't all opinions useless in the long run?  :-\

Megalodon. An Ancient Giant Shark that existed way back when.  :)   ( Even if it was only 1.2 million years ago :( )

But if you get picky and want a real Dinosaur, theres this one thats in the ocean, it's got a long narrow mouth with sharp teeth, kinda looks like the concept of Nessy. I Have no idea on its name though.  :-[

I believe you mean the Anklyosaurus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankylosaurus).  That's the one I chose.  My second-favorite would be the Compsognathus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compsognathus) because those tiny little buggers killed the old professor guy (with poison) in Jurassic Park (the book, the movie wasn't quite so cool).

It wasn't technically a dinosaur.  There is still a chance that they exist today!

Sorry to ruin it for you, but the Plesiosaur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plesiosaurus) also wasn't a dinosaur.  I had a hell of a time finding the article, because I vaguely rememberd ple..something, but I couldn't find anything that starts with that on any list of dinosaurs.  here (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/15/Plesiosaurus_-_Project_Gutenberg_eText_16033.gif) is a picture of it.  Oh, and they also might still exist.  Like you said, the Loch Ness Monster is theorized to be one.

While we're naming prehistoric reptiles, my favorite one is the Ichthyosaur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichthyosaur).  They are "giant marine reptiles that resemble a dolphin with large teeth"

How little?  Either you mean the Velociraptor, which was basically invented for Jurassic Park, or the Compsognathus, which I mentioned earlier.  Velociraptors are real, but they're very small and not very vicious.

The REAL little ones which traveled in packs and just ran up on a guy and chewed him up little by little. Not sure if it was in JP1 or 2

Yeah, that's Compsognathus.  They're awesome.  I don't think it was JP1, they only played a major part in the book.  I haven't seen JP2.

I like crocodiles. They have done something right because they are still around, maybe a smaller version but they are still around.

I don't understand how the size of a creature decreases in time as it did with dinosaurs.

Even if you argued about evolution it still wouldn't really make sense, would it?
Title: Re: What's your favorite dinosaur?

Evolution makes perfect sense.

A large crocodile creature like that would have to consume a lot more food than the modern crocodile. The ancient crocodile would have to eat elephant size meals in modern day to survive and that is not very efficient because there are not too many elephant size animals around. The modern day crocodile has a bigger range of food he can consume that would satisfy him.

Animals that can adjust to their environment are the best survivors. The crocodile has done that going back to the cretaceous period.
