WTF!?  That's a HUGE arsenal.  I understand it'd be hard to get away w/the shotgun, but the other stuff not so hard.

I could pack six or seven times as much in my backpack.

They could have pieced the video together in order to fit that much in his pants.

Hmm, I don't know.
Safety vs. freedom again. ::)

A strict white polo tucked into blue pants sounds good when kids are getting shot at & such.

Even if there was a dress code enforced, students would find a way around it.  It'd be similar to exploits and patches, IMO.

Yes, they've shown us this at school (freshmen year school violence video.) It isn't really practical considering, as said above, you can't exactly walk with it as it limits your mobility a ton. However it does raise concern.

By the way, I've been pro-school uniforms since I was in elementary school. I think second grade was when I made up my mind about them.

What possible reason could you have for being pro uniform?

BTW, at my school atleast, having a dress code wouldn't change the fact that you could get guns into the school with ease. The resources needed to control all the entrances into every build would simply not be worth it.

Requiring uniforms in a public school will probably never happen; not to mention uniforms are so pathetically gay and retarded, lmfao; GOGO GEEKY UNIFORMS.  And I hope to God it doesn't.

On a technical note, doesn't it seem odd the number of breaks in the clip?  As if they were piecing various shots together to make it seem like he in fact had all those weapons concealed?

You could just walk in to class with a gun, you don't have to hide it.

that too.

Mephisto, I totally believe you could get into school with that entire arsenal.
Walk with a "limp" or something in the leg w/the shotgun, itd be hard to move but you could fuck some people up

Wrong. There are public schools that require uniforms - including a middle school in my city. (Probably because it's in a black/poor (downtown) section of town and isn't a very safe school.

Try bringing a gun to my school, by the way you better be able to take a hard hit by like 5 security guards

Asians did it.

The weapons were clearly fake.  They wouldn't let a student HANDLE all those things once they knew he had them.  With an arsenal rivaling that of many videogame characters, he probably would have been taken down by a SWAT team.

Isn't that the scene from Bowling For Columbine?  If it's not, it's almost identical to it.  I guess BforC probably stole it from the original video.

And yeah, changing how people dress isn't going to solve the problem of weapons.  That's pretty obvious.

If anybody isn't on Windows and can't view .wmv plugins, here's a direct link (http://www.momoshare.com/video/videos/32210c6e2d3e82d402859e5108f70166/WhyEnforceTheDressCode.wmv).

metal detectors could be good...but you'd have to have a security guard @ each entrance w/it...itd be so hard.

Are the windows sealed? Or could you toss a weapon through the window?  What about outside the school, pull the fire alarm, wait out front, and mow them down as they run out.

Best idea, ever.

"Back in the school, hurry!"
"No, there might be a fire, get out!"
*everyone dies in a confused mass*

My neighbor (I dont personally know him) who had already graduated highschool was picking up a friend at the nearby highschool while having a legal AK-47? in his trunk.

I'm confused about weapons on school property.

Mine as well, but in H.S my school only had two cops and was a huge campus.  Assuming the cops saw you, you would still have a gun to shoot them with when they came at you.

My physics teacher told us about the time a dude walked in & asked to get his daughet out of class but since he wasn't the guardian (divorce) they wouldn't let him take her.
He came back later that day with a shotgun & shot the wall near the nurse's office

We've had a gun brought to school before I got there. There was a rumor that in 9th grade a gun was brought on pep rally day (we have one a year, before homecoming, and my freshmen year there was a HUGE fight after it.) I don't know if that's true. I'm sure weapons are brought and either found or not found, either way we wouldn't know.

But we do have random searches (though they say they only search two classrooms a day, that's bs..or maybe it's 2 per bell)

And we have random locker searches (security guard will just pick a hallway of lockers and search them all.

Dogs come in sometimes, but I've never seen them.

---

In my middle school, the year before I went there, there was a big plot to shoot up the school on the last day. It was a copycat of the Columbine shootings. The kids said they were the "Trenchcoat Mafia II" and they targeted pretty much the popularish kids, athletes, cheerleaders, etc.

What's no good though is that the security guards always make friends witht he students. Every few years they rotate the security guards (probably for that reason) but even the new ones already know everybody within a week or two. Plus they're really lax. One of our security guards, hotsauce, has a rap album out apparently. We have like 5 or 6 security guards and 1 cop.

I thought AK-47's were always illegal?  Or is it possible to have one legally?

It depends on what level of friendship, I think.  If they can befriend the students to the point where the students tell them about their drugs/plans, and then get busted, then sure, that would be good.  But if they're friends such that the security guard will ignore what he sees, then there's a serious problem.  The problem is when everybody is corrupt (police, security, etc.), there's no way to enforce laws, which sucks.

In any case, the kids in the rumor you were talking about probably (hopefully) had no intention of going through with it, they were just talking about it to seem cool.  Hopefully.  I'm sure that a lot of people have talked about doing it, but would never go through.

I think it used to be legal to have a non-automatic one.  I assume you could modify it or any gun to be fully automatic, but yeah.

It is legal to buy a semi-auto ak-47, and if your purchased your ak before the automatic weapons ban it is protected via the grandfather clause.

They certainly overlook the dress code on kids they know (but the dress code is hardly enforced anyway, partly because of lax security.) I'm not really sure how far the corruption goes, I heard rumors that my friends mom who was a security guard (but this year was transfered in the rotation) would hold drugs and stuff for kids. I also heard from another kid that he had smoked weed with her. I don't know if that's true, but her son is like really into school and all that so it definitely doesn't show through him.

It wasn't a rumor, it was all over the news and all that. They held a hearing at the school for the upcoming fifth grade parents and everything. My mom was on the news. :)

Ah, I got the impression it was more of a rumor.  In any case, I still doubt that the kids were really planning on going through with it.

Our [Mine and Yeggs] school doesn't permit us to wear Hoodies because of "Drug abuse" and "Weapon" concealment. I'm thinking to myself; I can barely make my cd player unnoticeable, how the hell will I hide a gun in it, and putting a gun under it would be a task in itself, I had a hard enough time keeping some soda and snacks hidden when going to the movies, you only have on hand accessible. Secondly, Uniforms should be enforced, just because some girls are uber cute :), the fat ones can wear suits since skirts wont EVER come in their size (Thank God) Also it'd prevent discrimination on the way people dress, not that I really care, I dress suave as it already it. ;)

It's funny how you make a discriminatory comment, and make it sound like preventing discrimination is good, both in the same run-on sentence.  That's awesome.
