I watched the Governor Pataki and President Bush's speeches last night. Pataki even gave us a "This one's for the Gipper" quotes and I believe that President Bush's speech was a knockout. He needed a huge speech to get into the minds of the undecided voters, between 6% and 8% of the vote, and he did it last night. Bravo zulu to an excellent job from the RNC.

Bush's speech was indeed very good. Everyone was worried about how he would say it (he even mentioned his problem with speaking coherently.) In my opinion, he did supurb. As far as I remember he made no grammatical errors (passed his dialect) and only fumbled on a few words - but everybody does that from time to time.

It's also great the diversity of speakers they had at the RNC. They had a speaker that appealed to almost every voting group - immigrants/minorities/women/democrats. The TV cameras also focused on the minorities present a lot! There were certainly more African-Americans at the RNC than the DNC - at least that were shown. Which, I guess it goes to show the uneducated people that the Republican party is made up of more than just racist, rich, white people. :)

His speach was great. I loved how he mixed in humor, especially when he was criticizing lurch.

Did you see the protestor getting kicked out of the RNC by the bouncers?

I watched the replay again this afternoon, it was a woman. She did put up a struggle..well tried. Didn't really have a chance against 7+ secret service agents.

I didn't think those were the secret service. I just thought they had lots of special bouncers there to keep protesters and people acting uncivilized out of the area. I want one of those ball caps.
