Ive read recently that Diablo III is planned to be released in 2011

Actually, D3 is NOT planned to be released in 2011. I'm calling for a 2012 Beta test, but... Yeah, nothing for sure.

Really thats... funny? Last year people would say that Diablo 3 might just come out in 2011 (with the few hoping in 2010). Now 2011 is too early?

Both release date we see here are obviously just a guess, but they are a good one. I don't see anything even remotely funny here, its obviously probable that they will be released around that, though I'd imagine SC2 a month or 2 later.

Commercial logic would suggest its going to be at least a year after Stacraft II is released before id expect to hear a peep from Diablo III.
Two profit waves interacting will have a negative effect.
If I was to flat out guess, in the next 12 - 24 months. *shrugs*
