Blizzcon 2009: Battle.net Panal

Some interesting stuff mentioned about the new battle.net

- There's going to be a marketplace for Maps, meaning you can sell your maps and share your revenue with Blizzard.  Thus making people having to pay for certain maps.
Maps can be published onto the blizzard servers and players can browse maps from there.
This means no need for all these popular map websites like http://www.nibbits.com/sc/maps/ or http://www.staredit.net/??

-From what I got out of it, it seems now you can't make a bunch of Battle.net names without buying another copy of SC2.  
And accounts wont expire? so no need for Account joggers?

-There will apparently be no Chat channels on SC2 in the beginning also. The chat will be more like a instant messagnger type thing.

-And they mentioned about the moderation for cheaters and it seems pretty good..something about them having to entirely buy another copy of the game to start again after being banned. Thus effecting them $$$ wise.

It's always been like that.  if you cheat on starcraft, warcraft3, or world of warcraft, your cd-key gets banned and/or account closed so you have to buy a new cd-key (or new copy of the game prior to blizzard games being purchasable online) and start over

Well I think what they were saying was that instead of just account closures where people would just remake accounts again. This time they will be more strict and just ban CdKeys instead more readily
