Create a Raid group and kill the Lich. You then leave the raid group and loot his corpse.

Aparently, Blizzard designed WoW to cremate your character every single time, take a week, and then fall flat on its ass without any more expirence. Its built arround the "practice makes perfect" idea.

Seeing as how those you listed were Primary Healer, Debuffer and Cool Guy/Girl, and Primary Tank... Did you have any people to deal heavy damage?
