This is off topic but: Do you ever wonder about if you die, what all the people on battle net, and on forums will think happened to you? Its a really off the wall thought I guess.

I thought about that before.  I know people in real life who know about vL and other groups I belong to, so I'm sure they would inform them.  Additionally, several people I know online have my phone number and full name, so they could probably find out.

What scares me is that it's bound to happen to all of us eventually......
This'll make an interesting test for broken AV:

What scares me....

"Hey daddy, will you play with me?"
"Sorry son, I have to moderate the web development forum. Some other time, maybe."

Maybe someone should create an AID (Am I Dead) protocol which runs on HTTP, which you must log on to at least once every week.  If one week passes without you logging on, you're marked dead.  ;)  (this has to be the first time I ever used an emoticon here.  But I'm afraid if I didn't, you people would take my sarcasm seriously)

It's a good idea, but it has already been made. It's more customizable than your proposal, but it's fills the same purpose.

I thought about making a program that would automatically send out my last words if I died to all of the forums I am active on. So far the only method of activation was to have my girlfriend or dad or something run it for me.

Or when I join the military if there is some public listing I am not aware of I could make it watch that while I am away.

Yes I do, kinda often actually because I know that a few of my close online friends would notice I was missing...

All I know is I never wonder if anyone else has died, and never think about it if they do.

During hurrican Isabel there was a poll at a site I'm staff at that had the users vote on whether they thought I was dead or not after being gone for ~6 days.
