Mitosis #14  --  My new background.

iago

Well, I'm no artist, but here's an example of what I would consider my art form:

I miss backstabbing, I'm almost considering digging up my Starcraft disk :)

Mitosis

J0k3r #1 and 2 6/10. Generaly they are ok but I think you could add a lot more to them. They look somewhat plain.

Akamas

Mitosis all your work 3/10, In my opinion.

Well, I want some too. Greedy Yoni should stop hogging it.

Very nice Spht #2 10/10, btw what do you use?
That's simple, both of you seem to use the same basic idea: either take a picture or pictures you didn't create that look cool, and then type some text next to them; or type some text, add 3-4 filters, *maybe* move a layer, and call it masterful.

I don't mean to be all flamey but it really bothers me when people call either using other's work and adding a word to it or clicking 'OK' on a built-in filter "making art".

You're right to some degree.  But almost all art is based on something, even abstract.  What Spht did with the Halloween logo is quite a distance from the original, as to be considered unique.  He probably had to throw away dozens of attempts, as artists often do, until it has the right look and feel.  I think he did great.

Someone opening Photoshop and drawing freehand is your only idea of digital art?  What if they used the font tools, filter tools, effects?  At which point are any of those the artists own creation?  I'm not attempting to counter-flame, but want to point out that being critical exposes your own critique to criticism :p  or something.  hehe

Spht and I talked at length about this on MSN, and I told him his Halloween logo was good.  I don't think only freehand is art, I was trying to say I don't think writing "Mitosis" next to a render made by Blizzard, or by writing "Graphic Designer" with the wind filter applied, over a background with something like difference clouds, glass, lens flare filters applied, is art.  If I take the Mona Lisa, and write SOULTAKER on it, did I really create great art?

Tuberload #2 8/10 its really nice but I think the green kind of recks it.

The green is a difference color of the blue, so I don't see how it wrecks it. Thank you for your input.

I will post some art that more closely resembles what you are posting when I get back home tonight.

Yoni

Netcooler is being way too lazy so I'll post in his name.

1) This one is several years old.

It's fun, we can call people "DC™" and they don't know what we mean.

2) Jisus (the action figure).

3) The New Testament.

4) From the day Saddam was captured. There were plenty of these, here's Netcooler's.

5) The person in the following image is not Skywing.

6) Tabascola, the drink!

This one also has an action shot. Click:

7) That's My Furer

8) Me and my awesome car.

9) Me in deleted scenes from the Matrix: Reloaded.

Enjoy.

Netcooler

Ahhh, I love those.
I'd elaborate on the pictures, but Yoni said it all. God bless him.

Any comments on any of my works?

And iago, want me to make you a kid?  ::)

Zorm

I was bored and decided to show off my newbie skills so yeah:
