When I try to send my bot, made via BNLS, to other people, when they try to open it, it says "Failed to load vb.usercontrols." Do any of you know what this problem is. I tried fiddling with the components and their locations but that did not fix anything.

give them cleanslatebot and if that doesnt work, tell them to register it

Some people get the first error message and some get: " System Error &H8007007E (-2147024770). The specified module could not be found." but my bot seems to work for nobody except for me.  :-\

First of all, make sure that you have the latest version of cleanslatebot.ocx

Second, make sure you have some method of autoinstallation of the ocx file, and make sure it is in the folder you release,
If you are using a setup builder for your bot, place the cleanslatebot.ocx in the "windows system folder" area

Try using the VB setup wizard.

Where can I get the "latest" version of CleanSlateBot.orx?

I don't know about CleanSlateBot.orx, but you can find the latest version of CleanSlateBot.ocx, by doing a search for "Download CleanSlateBox.ocx".

That should not be necessary.  As was stated earlier, this is most likely caused by CleanSlateBot.ocx not being properly registered.

Any other unregistered dependant control could cause this message, but most of the VB controls are present on recent systems.

not all of them, most are installed and registered upon vb installation, but if there are conflicting files that may contain the same base addresses or entry points, then they might be installed incorrectly, best way to fix this is to re download a list of runtime files, and freshly install them, then they are independently registered without vb doing it for them, amungst other things simountaniously...

Some bg3 users have this problem. I include all files with the install package and register them all. More recently I found it was a problem with them lacking mswinsck.ocx (i think thats the name of it) and it doesn't say they are missing that file for some reason it was giving that error. MS is no help with it either.

So try that if you still see problems. Make sure your installer registers all your ocx's and dll's i recommend setup factory it's very nice a little pricy though so if your short on cash it's most likly not the way for you to go.

Does nobody listen to st0rm?  He must be wondering why he bothers.

He also wonders why his karma rating shoots down even when he posts useful answers.

Oh well, I guess my crusade is close to over.
