Quote"We have to continue to improve and bring in quality student athletes and win games," Zook said. "I think we have closed the gap [with Florida State and Miami], but we are not there yet. We have to bring in the student-athletes that are going to give us the opportunity to do that."

Either the gap is closed, or not.  Zookified.

Typical of an FSU graduate/fan, they are unable to read properly. Just because you have closed a gap does not mean that you are ahead. For instance, Lance Armstrong closed the gap between himself and Vockeler in Stage 15, but was still 22 seconds behind. Closing the gap does not mean taking the lead.

Who said anything about "ahead" or "lead"?  He said closing the gap, which means making the gap zero, which means equal.  To say we have closed the gap means the gap is zero!  If the gap is zero then you are there.  How does that equate to a reading problem?

You can close the gap without surpassing.

Nobody said anything about surpassing!  Cripes, I can't read?

If you close the gap, it is zero.  If the gap is zero, you have CAUGHT UP.

Caught up does NOT imply anything about surpassing.  Stop making shit up.  Or, do all Gators talk like Zook?

Hazard

You can close the gap without eliminating the gap.
