Was wanting to dual boot windows 2000 prof and slack9.1... I have no clue where/how to start, help would be wonderful please kthx.

Assuming you can repartition the drive to give linux some room, just install it.  When Slack9.1 is done, it'll want to install Lilo (Linux Loader), which can install in your boot sector.  Set it up with your linux and window drive, then when you boot  it'll ask you which you want.
