java + display problem

I have yet to figure this out.  Whenever I run a java application (Eclipse, JBuilder, ourTunes.. ) or visit a java applet on a webpage (MVT, my entire display gets blurry (not unreadable, but noticably blurred).  One second after I close the application or browser window, it goes back to normal.  This is killing me.

Any thoughts?  I've got the lastest nvidia drivers, and java 2 1.4.2_03/05 jdk/jre's installed. I don't think anything's overheating.

Try re-installing the Java stuff.

Do you think my graphics card might be overheating?  This is really bothering me; if it's something that might potentially damage my system, I don't want to go on ignoring it.

What OS? What kind of monitor? Check the frequencies in use when it's blurry and not blurry? Does it snap between them?

Windows Server 2003 Standard
MAG 986 FS @ 75 Hz (both blurry / nonblurry - I changed this from 60 Hz to see if it would help)

It doesn't "snap" in between them like a resolution change, but it does "snap" to some extent -  the screen flickers black for a brief second.

Turns out java has something against 2xQ antialiasing.  Everything looks fine on application controlled, 2x, 4x, or with it disabled.

Ah. Dell replaced a blurry monitor for us at work today. It would go out of focus at times, but the transitions weren't as quick as yours, and not connected to running any particular application.
