And since 1.1, *anybody* can go in the cow level, although you don't gain experience till level 20.  If somebody who's beaten baal goes down, they'll probably survive an unsafe portal, but if you send down your level 20, he probably won't.
This'll make an interesting test for broken AV:

Last time I played all I saw was "Safe?" and "Yes" or "No". That had always seemed simple enough to me. :/

Back in 1.09 (08 even) people cowd alot, and when you went through the red portal you didn't know what to expect, and typing "don't come it's not safe" when you have fanat extra strong cow king + minions around you is bound to get you killed, so they came up with a system that wasn't already in use.

Why would someone *want* to pick a system that isn't in use anywhere else? Wouldn't it have been much easier for the person in town to ask "safe?" and the guy down there to reply "y" or "n" ?
