Yes, which is why I'm thinking he meant GUI.  A bot with no UI is like a dog that doesn't obey.

It's like asking someone if they would like a vehicle with a remote car key, or without.

[13:41:45]<@Fapiko> Why is TehUser asking for wang pictures?
[13:42:03]<@TehUser> I wasn't asking for wang pictures, I was looking at them.
[13:47:40]<@TehUser> Mine's fairly short.

The question is UI or no UI, not GUI... I find it would be strange for a bot to have no interface to the user, including no whispered commands, no text output, and no way to start or stop it.

Sounds a lot like a process. :p

that made me feel like a total idiot. this entire thing was useless.

A process? Any program is a process. How does the UI or lack thereof have anything to do with a program's process-ness?

Yes, you can't have everybody...contributing to the main source repository.  That would be stupid and create chaos.

Opensource projects...would be dumb.

I meant a service. Again, excuse my lack of thinking. =/

Actually, it runs as a Windows Service.

Just because something runs as a service doesn't mean the UI is invisible to the user, whether it's graphical or not.

It could run as a daemon (via fork()) in Linux/UNIX.

After 3 years, it's on the horizon.  The new JinxBot, and BN#, the managed Battle.net Client library.

What's this have to do with "C++"?
This'll make an interesting test for broken AV:

He's probably going to try to write a project in C++, but other than for his own sake, probably nothing.

Most of the public moderation bots you find are written in Visual Basic and have a GUI, basic or not, C++ ( in this case ) would require hours of un-needed work to make a GUI for a moderation bot which IMO is not needed, correct?

If you do it well, hours is quite reasonable.
Grif: Yeah, and the people in the red states are mad because the people in the blue states are mean to them and want them to pay money for roads and schools instead of cool things like NASCAR and shotguns.  Also, there's something about ketchup in there.
