So, I just got an Ipod today [ For Free ] cause it doesn't turn on...Like the battery refuses to charge at all, any suggestions?

Yegg

What? I was just at your house why didn't you show me?

Trance

You'll have to give more details about your iPod... i.e. what generation is it... If you don't know then check Apple's iPod site they've got all the information on how to tell what generation you have.

Is the battery detachable (I don't know Ipods)?  If it is, take it out and plug in the Ipod.  If it still doesn't turn on, it's not a battery issue.  If the battery isn't detachable, well..now that I think about it if it's plugged in it should turn on anyway.
Grif: Yeah, and the people in the red states are mad because the people in the blue states are mean to them and want them to pay money for roads and schools instead of cool things like NASCAR and shotguns.  Also, there's something about ketchup in there.

Its a new Ipod, 4th generation. No more than 10 months.

Trance

It should still be under warranty then I think, unless it's been harmed on purpose I think you can take it to an apple store and they'll look at it for you.

They're not detachable.

Of course they are; you just have to pop them open to do it.

Click.

I'd rather leave the fixing to Apple than void my warranty, because after I'm finished with it I'd probably need the warranty more than I did before I went to work.

Somehow I doubt an iPod, given away for free, was under any type of warranty and if it was, it has most likely long-since expired.   It is a 4G after all.

Trance

4th gen isn't that old, it's possible it could still be under warranty.. especially if it's less than a year old.
