I've recently put together a new computer and installed Windows XP Professional 64-bit Edition.  I started installing the drivers for my various hardware, as well as updating Windows via Windows Update and installing applications that I had on my previous computer.  Everything was working perfectly at first, but after I had finished updating and installing everything, my SATA DVD-RW drive began causing the computer to lockup whenever a CD/DVD was inserted, and both my DVD-RW and SATA harddrive popped up on the Safely Remove Hardware wizard.  I've tried reinstalling the drivers, as well as completely removing the drives but it didn't solve the problem.  Any suggestions?

We discussed this, and came to the conclusion that the drivers suck!
