Okay get this: I go to this guy i know's house and clean up his system, basically I get rid of the spyware, viruses, and changed some stuff. Then I tried to work on his network... i can't because he does not know his router pass and all of the settings are messed up, like his pall ravaged it. But I found out his neighbor runs a wireless network... no password on their router no encryption. I basically told this guy how to use their wireless internet and what not to do so they will not notice. So he has his desktop plugged into the modem and can use his laptop on the neighbors internet without his permission.

Here comes the cool part: He gave me 70 bucks for this hours worth of work and prolly a grands worth of fireworks! I just got back from the mall, we went to the top level of the parking garage and we were lighting those suckers off. When my pal lit a really loud one we decided to leave because the mall cop mobile was pulling into the garage... we hauled butt. But it was awesome. I got all the cool stuff for fixing a pc. At school I have basically the right to ship because I fixed our school security guy's computer and he lets me skip whenever I want. Nerds have perks!

I do not ask for money. People give it to me as a 'tip'. Like I replaced a motherboard for my neighbor and he gave me 50 and of course payed for the replacement mobo.

I crave cash so I need to start helping more people. Computers are my bread + buttah so I need to start getting people I help to tell all their friends that I fix computers. I can program and do webdesign too... but just fixing computers w/ software and hardware problems is much much less time consuming and I can make 50 - 100 bucks a pop. I need to do this more often then I am now.

I fix friends and parents friends computers and my familys. I dont ask for money but I usually get about £10 for an hoiur of work, suchs as formatting installing and getting rid of virus's and porn that friends cant get rid of.

Nahhh this is word of mouth under the table stuff. I do not feel like making this a real business. I just like to be able to get some spending money every one in a while. I wanted to do webdesign commercially but the place I wanted to work at was not hiring and I did not have time to really just go into business for myself and have to make whole websites in a limited time frame.

Yeh, nerds do seem to have the perks, especially the crafty ones (I know some people that would never strike you as nerds that get away with w/o being noticed as nerds).

Anyways, I have gotten perks for fixing other people's PCs, even though I offer to do it for free (most of the tools I use are free, so why charge?).  But, I do usually get a good sum of money for my labors (set up a PC + installed legit Windows 98se = +$100).
