I make a point of not getting anything I see in ads.  Or clicking ads.
This'll make an interesting test for broken AV:

Er, I think I'm going to go advertise Slackware on Slashdot, just so that iago will feel dirty using it.  :P

I don't use Slashdot much.. just when I'm really really bored, which isn't common.

I don't like ads, especially the annoying popup ones.  But if people keep clicking them, then they aren't going to go away.  If people stopped clicking ads, then they WOULD go away :(
