I have taken a break recently from posting and on the channel as some know. Main reason being school/work, but another main reason was I wanted to try to test my C++ skills and such by myself since I felt others were doing work for me and not I myself doing it. Anyways with that aside I am interested in picking up Java since I feel it will better suit my needs. I have found some books on Java but since money for me is scarce right now I can't buy one. Next logical step I did was google for it. Although many links popped up I was never able to find a tutorial on Java that I could find for C++. Using cplusplus.com as reference, this has guides for everything you need to know, from data types, to arrays, to OO, to i/o. But for Java I have only been able to find tutorials based on its OO aspects. These tutorials are expecting you to already know the basics of Java, something I do not know.

To make this long story short, can anyone point me in the general direction of a good online Java tutorials, didn't find java.sun.com very much help but then again I didn't look at it very extensivly. Thanks for any and all help.

http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/

Lookup "Thinking in Java 3rd Edition" by Bruce Eckel. It is an excellent book, and it is publicly available online.

I think there is a problem if you don't find java.sun.com helpful...

Addition: Maybe you should quit getting high. :P At least keep it to nights and weekends.

Why'd you put it in code?  If they weren't in code, the forum would automatically link (most of) them.
