altering configuration files doesn't go well in the cs community.  if you're talking about changes in key bindings, it's probably easier to just change via the gui.

im talking about saving your control settings via /writecfg name
then saving into a db, so you dont have to change your controls on every comp you hop on

Why do you need a database for that? Get some webspace and just upload it.
