What's the deal with that? Why would it check for a certain username when processing the version command?

I don't think the bot recognizes that I am not on D2, or that it is. I am assuming it is doing it because of that.

SphtBotv3 doesn't natively look for such remote commands, so I'm guessing you have a plugin loaded that's triggering that.

If the plugin is Oper then the only thing I can think of that would cause that error is the bot's logged on Diablo II, and the documentation clearly warns "I recommend NOT using the bot on Diablo II.  It current does not handle the mangled starred names."
