Posting from my newly updated PSP via the new web browser.  It takes some getting used to...that's for sure...

All that is included when you update the PSP.  I'm not sure about how to do it without going to the Update menu on the PSP Home menu, but I know it's possible.  From what I remember:
+ Added Web Browser (it's l33t too)
+ Added custom backgrounds
+ Added AAF and WAV audio codecs
+ Added bmp, png, gif, and jpg image support (for backgrounds)
+ other stuff....
